Something Other Than Military...

I've recently returned to a genre I started out in about 15 years ago; HO scale fairground models.
I originally 'inherited' a lot of Faller fairground models from my younger sister. I had them set up, somewhat precariously I must admit, on a board, perched on top of a cardboard box! And of course, the inevitable happened! The board got kicked, the models went flying, wires got tugged and short circuited! There was smoke everywhere!
After I quickly unplugged the transformer, I discovered that a lot of damage had been done to the models themselves, as well as the electrics. So the whole lot got packed away in a box and more or less forgotten about! Until last year that is.
I dug them out of their box, to assess just how bad the damage was. I discovered that with a lot of work, all the models were repairable. Unfortunately, at that time, I had no space for them.
Skip a year, a failed marriage, a house move and some renewed interest in them from my sister, they're now all repaired, re-wired, mounted securely on proper baseboards, and fully functioning once more!
Here's some pictures of the rides on their baseboards;

As can be seen from the pictures, the models are mounted on 3 modular baseboards, which are setup side-by-side when the fairground is on display, then stacked at the end of the day. The boards, when on display, have a 'skirt' around them, to hide the undersides. And a curtain, to keep the dust off them, when they're stacked.
All the rides are lit up and motorised, and all the concession stands and sideshows are lit, with the 'Sportshow' model having hidden speakers that can be connected to a CD or MP3 player, for added atmosphere!
